Waireka (meaning 'Sweet Water') is situated in serene and spacious grounds which were once part of the Forty Mile Bush. With a lovely rural outlook, we’re surrounded by mature gardens and well-established trees which are regularly visited by Tui and other wildlife.
We are also close to local amenities though and our friendly staff are willing to go the extra mile and take you into the shops if your family is unable to. Our carers are always ready to listen and enjoy getting to know you and your family. By finding out about you, your likes and dislikes, hobbies and interests, they are able to provide you with personalised care – care that is centred on you.
Features of Waireka:
- Friendly to make you feel at home
- 24 hour assistance
- Outdoor spaces to enjoy while you relax
- Space for some quiet time
- Communal dining room
During the week we have a varied and lively activities programme for your enjoyment, including indoor games, quizzes, cooking and group exercises. We often have local entertainers visit us and also enjoy taking trips out around the area, to places like the library or local agricultural events. Of course, it is up to you whether you want to join in or not - we want you to feel at home here and spend your day doing the things you like to do. View times and dates for our upcoming activities.
