We’re extremely proud of our Mai Moa Wing, the first Maori immersion unit in the country where we provide care that is based around traditional principals of Maori Health. We speak your language, respect your traditions and provide culturally appropriate food. There’s a whanau room if your family would like to be close to you.
Our special care offered in our Mai Moa wing at the Bupa Gardens, respects Maori traditions, and brings together the four cornerstones of Maori Health.
- Whanau (family health)
- Tinana (physical health)
- Hinengaro (mental health) and
- Wairua (spiritual health)
We plan each step of care in partnership with Whanau. The person in your care will be cared for by our staff who have full knowledge of Maori health and wellbeing. We understand Whanau is important, so your Whanau are welcome to visit or to stay at any time. Professional care Our credentials are right up to date. You can inspect our audit report on the Bupa website. It makes positive note of our recognition of Maori values and beliefs. You can be confident that the best care will be provided.
