Levels of care

Mary Shapley is located in a peaceful, sunny area of central Whakatane

Just a short walk to the local shops and cafes, ideal for family outings. Our gardens are our triumph, having won several awards in the Whakatane Best Garden Competition over the last few years. They are a wonderful place to sit and relax, enjoying the sun, colour and friendship of the other residents.

Our carers are lovely, very caring and flexible. They love getting to know you, your family and your likes and dislikes in order to make your day just how you like it to be. To make sure you feel at home and getting the best care we can give, we consult the experts – you and your family. We make sure to make decisions about your care together so your wishes are always respected.

We offer a range of activities and entertainment that gives you the opportunity to keep busy, learn new skills and get to know the other residents. You can get involved as much or as little as you like - it’s up to you how your spend your day.

Mary Shapley boasts an exceptional audit record with the Ministry of Health. You can view the Audit PDF below.
