Quality service at the heart of Bupa villages throughout New Zealand

Date: 26 Nov 2021

Kay loves a good get together and looks forward to organising the drinks trolley (with her village manager Lacey) for happy hour with her fellow Bupa Erin Park Retirement Village residents.

"We all look forward to our regular social events in our Manurewa village. Happy Hour is definitely a favourite and it's a chance to get together and chat with my neighbours," Kay said.

Happy Hours are a firm favourite of many village residents across the country and is part of the experience offered at Bupa retirement villages. The village experience was recently recognised with a Silver for Bupa in the Reader’s Digest Quality Service Awards.

The results were determined by an annual Reader’s Digest-commissioned survey that asked 2,400 Kiwis which companies, in 35 categories, provided the highest levels of customer service in 2021.

Bupa’s Head of Customer Transformation, Josh Byers, says it’s an honour to be recognised by New Zealanders for quality service, especially during a challenging year of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.

“We have always aimed to be a customer focused business and that has involved a lot of listening to our residents and their families. It’s wonderful to be recognised for the exceptional customer experience provided by our dedicated village team,” Josh said.

Bupa has 54 locations across New Zealand. The majority of the 36 retirement villages have a care home onsite or nearby. There are also 18 additional standalone care homes.
