We have strong relationships with local General Practitioners, who visit us regularly, and with support services such as Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) teams and Hospice.
All providers of healthcare are required to undergo a certification (audit) process every so often against national health standards. Click here to read the latest audit results for Winara. These results are also available on the Ministry of Health’s national website.
As well as these external audits we seek direct feedback from residents and their families on how well we meet their needs in these areas through our annual Resident Satisfaction Survey. View the latest results Winara’s Resident Satisfaction survey here.
As a company our aim is constant improvement, through measurement of key quality indicators such as how often residents are falling and how frequently are infections occuring. Our focus is on keeping our residents safer. See our progress on these measures here.
We pride ourselves on providing exceptional standards of individualised care, 24 hours a day, according to each resident’s tailored care plan. We really get to know our residents, so that we can meet their emotional and social needs, as well as their physical ones.
It’s very important to us that our residents feel at home. We welcome visitors at any time, and encourage our residents to personalise their rooms.
Winara Rest Home is home to many residents from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Some of our staff are multi-lingual, and we have positive, established relationships with local Kaumatua.
Our residents have a variety of lounge areas in which they can relax, entertain guests or socialise with other residents. We know how important it is to keep in touch with friends and family, so our door is always open to guests. Our wide-ranging activities programme provides variety, stimulation and enjoyment to our residents’ days.
